BYM MAKES HISTORY WITH FIRST-EVER YOUTH CONNECT AND CULTURAL HIKE AT BUTURA WUR

 The Butura Youth Movement (BYM) made history by organizing its first-ever Youth Connect and Cultural Hike on January 4, 2025, at Butura Wur. This groundbreaking event, the first of its kind in the community, brought together Butura youth and key stakeholders in a colorful celebration of unity and cultural heritage. The hike to the cultural village not only symbolized the journey toward reconnecting with their roots but also provided an opportunity for participants to engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of the Butura nation. The scenic beauty of Butura Wur, combined with the energy and enthusiasm of the youth, created an inspiring atmosphere that set the tone for a promising new chapter in community engagement.


The event was graced by prominent figures whose presence underscored its significance. His Majesty Dah, John Mallo Makwal, the District Head of Butura, was represented by Chief Sylvanus Loms, CEO of SMAL Konsult Ltd., lending royal support to the movement. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Ezekiel Macham, former President of Nigerians in Diaspora Worldwide and CEO of Reliance Hotel, Jos, and Dr. John Madugu, a former lecturer at the University of Jos, who delivered an insightful presentation on the history of the Butura nation. Adding to the event's prestige was Naval Commodore Isaac Mankilik, Registrar of Admiralty University, Asaba, represented by Mr. Makut Alfred Mashat (NIPR), PRO of Admiralty University, Asaba. These leaders highlighted the importance of preserving Butura's rich cultural heritage while fostering unity and progress among its youth.


The inaugural Youth Connect and Cultural Hike marked a pivotal moment for the Butura community, showcasing a blend of tradition and innovation. It created a platform for youth to engage with their heritage while discussing practical steps to contribute to the community's development. The event's success was evident in the overwhelming turnout and the sense of pride it instilled in participants. As the first of its kind, this initiative by BYM is expected to pave the way for future events that will continue to celebrate Butura's identity, strengthen bonds among its people, and inspire the youth to take active roles in shaping the community's future.

BUTURA YOUTH MOVEMENT CONGRATULATES HON. LUKA MAKUT BWOI ON HIS PROMOTION

Deputy Clerk of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Luka Makut Bwoi, recently received a visit from the Butura Youth Movement EXCO led by its Chariman, Sabastine Magit in the office of the Deupty Clerk at the Plateau State House of Assembly on the 7th of November, 2024. Acording to Magit, the aim of the visit was to congratulate him on his new promotion. Hon. Luka Makut Bwoi welcomed the Butura Youth Movement and promised to collaborate and continue working in synergy with the youth. He emphasized the importance of unity for national development, urging youths to unite regardless of family and political affiliations. He dedicated his appointment to all Butura sons and daughters, stating that his appointment is for everyone, not just himself. Furthermore, he identified security as a paramount issue affecting the people and promised to work with Butura youths to address this concern. He also advised the youth to maintain a unified identity, remembering that Butura is one.
